Seminar on Art & Ecology

The Wanås Foundation, Knislinge, Sweden, 21 October 2009

The Wanås Foundation organised a full-day seminar on the relationship between arts and ecology, to discuss from three different perspectives what is of most importance: individual efforts or governmental changes.

The seminar was presented on the occasion of the closure of the exhibition 'Footprints' (17 May– 25 October), a group show including works by Tue Greenfort, Henrik Hakansson, Tea Mäkipää (with Halldor Ulfarsson), Tomás Saraceno and Nilsmagnus Sköld.

With the participation of:

Folke Tersman, Professor of Practical Philosophy at Uppsala University, author of 'Tillsammans: en filosofisk debattbok om hur vi kan rädda vårt klimat' (2009).

Joanna Yarrow, media commentator and expert in the field of ecologically sustainable lifestyles, founder of the Beyond Green in London.

Latitudes, curators of projects including the group exhibition 'Greenwashing Environment: Perils, Promises and Perplexities' (2008) and editors of the publication Land, Art: A Cultural Ecology Handbook (2006)
